Our Mission

2023 International Women's Day

The Yonkers Women in Law Enforcement is dedicated to fostering a strong and inclusive community of women in law enforcement, promoting their health and wellness, providing comprehensive training opportunities, offering unwavering support, and empowering them to excel in their careers and assume leadership roles in the Yonkers Police Department. Recognizing that women make up only about 17% of the sworn officers of the YPD and face unique job related challenges and experiences, we've created a women's organization that will be mutually beneficial for the department as a whole, as well as our members.
